Make animated GIFs from photos or video

Create a short looping GIF from a sequence of images or a video clip. GIFs are useful for quick demonstrations, reactions, product moments, tutorial steps, and social posts where a short animation is easier to understand than a static image. Upload images in the order you want them to appear, or select a short video section and convert it to an animated GIF.

How to make a GIF from images

  1. Select Images to GIF and upload at least two JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP images.
  2. Arrange your files before uploading if the order matters; frames are used in that sequence.
  3. Set the Frame delay. A lower value makes the animation faster; 100–200 ms is a good starting point.
  4. Set the loop count. Use 0 for a GIF that repeats continuously, then click Make GIF.

How to convert video to GIF

  1. Select Video to GIF and upload a short video.
  2. Choose a start time and duration so the GIF includes only the moment you need.
  3. Set the output width and FPS. Lower values reduce file size; 10–15 FPS is often smooth enough for a short GIF.
  4. Click Convert to GIF and download the completed animation.

Keep GIF file sizes manageable

GIF files can become large quickly because they contain many frames. Use a short clip, a smaller output width, and a moderate frame rate. If the animation is intended for a website, consider using a compressed video format as well, because it is often much smaller for longer or high-detail motion.

Tip: For a polished loop, trim the animation so the final frame naturally leads back to the first frame.
